Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Plant Development Manager to lead the development of new solar power plants. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solar project development, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting and financial analysis, ensuring the successful execution of solar projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Development:
Identify and evaluate potential sites for solar plant development.
Conduct feasibility studies, including technical, environmental, and financial assessments.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Permitting and Compliance:
Coordinate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Prepare and submit permit applications and environmental impact assessments.
Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with landowners, local communities, and government agencies.
Negotiate land leases or purchase agreements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Financial Analysis and Funding:
Develop financial models to assess project viability and profitability.
Secure project financing and funding through investors, banks, or other financial institutions.
Prepare and present investment proposals and business cases.
Project Coordination:
Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Oversee the transition from development to construction phase.
Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate project risks.
Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in solar project development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role and minimum 20MW single site handling.
Proven record of accomplishment of successfully developing and delivering large-scale solar projects.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems and project development processes.
Proficient in project management software and financial modeling tools.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
